Swedish Massage

The benefits of Swedish massage are many and include relaxation and reduction of muscle tension and pain. Release of pain in tight knotted areas of muscle and fascia is accomplished with steady static pressure, when needed, and rotation and stretching of limbs is employed to limber up the musculo-skeletal system. These manipulations increase circulation and range of motion in the body resulting in a feeling of renewed body energy and flexibility.

Deep-Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage follows upon the Swedish massage whereby the therapist uses specific pressure techniques that penetrate deeper into the tissues to address special areas of tightness, pain and, through the stimulation of trigger points, energy blockage. The amount of pressure used is always adjusted by the therapist to the level desired by the client.

Hot/Cold Stone Massage

Hot stone massage is an indulgent and relaxing modality that uses smooth, comfortably heated rounded stones to massage the body, resulting in the release of muscle tension. Often, stones are left for a time on specific pressure points, allowing the heat to relieve tension, tightness and pain. The hot stones help to distribute body warmth for those with low body energy Qi. The stone's heat facilitates the dilation of the body's various circulatory systems.

Shiatsu Massage/Acupressure Point Massage

Special work on the regulation of body yin and yang energies through the specific organ meridians, from the head to the feet. Finger pressure is used to work on particular pressure points to unblock the meridians that regulate the blood and body Qi and other body organs. It improves circulation and accelerates blood flow, stimulates metabolism, and stimulates the body's immunity to fend off sickness.

Chinese Cupping Therapy

Cupping is used to treat a broad range of health conditions through the use of suction cups placed on the skin over areas of muscle stress and organ dysfunction. Cups are left on the skin for 10 to 20 minutes and will produce mild to considerable redness or bruising on the skin indicating correct focus and effectiveness of treatment.

Lymphatic Drainage

A type of gentle massage intended to facilitate natural drainage of lymph from tissues using rhythmic circular movements that stimulate lymph flow. Since the lymphatic system is at the first level of defense against disease and foreign substances, it is important that lymph not stagnate in its circulation back to the bloodstream.

Moxa Treatment

In this treatment, glowing moxa stick is held close over specific meridian points while the therapist also uses finger pressure to stimulate the points being worked on. This treatment is used to release pain and to open blocked meridian energy flow.
